Scientific and disciplinary training

ED3C makes doctoral students aware of the importance of training to prepare them for their future careers. Depending on their plans for the future, it is up to each doctoral student, in agreement with their thesis director, to define their training programme, in terms of the type of training and the associated number of hours.

Scientific and disciplinary training

Among the considerable number of scientific and disciplinary training courses offered each year in different institutional settings, doctoral students can identify those that are useful for the fulfilment of their scientific and professional project:

  • Individual Masters courses (including general training courses, History of Science, etc.)
  • Lectures of the Collège de France
  • Conferences
  • National or International Summer Schools
  • Scientific meetings (including the annual Roscoff Meeting organised by ED3C for  3rd year PhD students)

Sorbonne University regularly offers training courses in animal experimentation for doctoral students whose projects involve animal experiments. You will find the list of courses and how to register on the site web du Pôle Formation Continue.

The ED3C's very strict budget does not allow the doctoral school to pay for scientific and disciplinary training for doctoral students. It will be up to the laboratories to finance the costs associated with these types of training (registration fees, travel expenses, etc.).
